Our book
In September 2023, our book Nonviolent Communication at Work. A collaborative approach for companies, institutions, schools and groups. Ed. Acanto, Barcelona, was published. In it we collect our experiences and learnings in consulting and training from a Nonviolent Communication approach.
The purpose of this book is to propose a way of thinking and relating to people that promotes trust and contributes to solving conflicts in a healthy way. This approach allows to address -effectively and from connection- daily difficulties that we encounter in the world of work and in relationships in general.
The transformative power of Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication is sustained by the simplicity of its practice. It is an approach that takes people into account, generates well-being and promotes a natural desire to contribute, enriching everyone’s life. This translates into cohesive professional environments where people express themselves, problems are faced and conflicts, when they are not diluted, are less intense.
The background of the cases proposed is so universal that simply changing the protagonists and adapting them to our circumstances is enough to make the examples close to us. A dialogue between a supervisor and a person in their charge can become a dialogue between a teacher and a student or between a doctor and a patient or between members of a team. Throughout the text, different topics are covered in a practical way, from how to give feedback to how to listen in a effective way, including saying ‘no’ and hearing a ‘no’, dealing with our mistakes, resolving conflicts, apologizing effectively or expressing and receiving recognition.
